Behavioural Questions

Almost all interviews will involve behavioural questions at some stage during the interview process. This is because employers will be assessing whether you have experienced similar situations or that you will respond to certain situations in a suitable manner.

The tip here is to practice, practice, practice. But we need to know what to practice. For this, do the following:
  • Search online for sample behavioural questions
  • Select those behaviours that you believe the employer or the role requires
  • Search online for tips on how to answer behavioural questions
  • Use the STAR process (Situation, Task, Action, Results)
  • Write down your response
  • Practice with friends or in a mirror
  • Get feedback and refine the answers
  • Review these answers the night before the interview
